Terms & Conditions
Submission
Wines may be submitted by producers, importers, distributors, or appointed PR agencies acting on behalf of a producer. There is no charge to enter The Blue Roses awards programme.
Submission does not guarantee that a wine will receive an award or be published. All wines are assessed independently and decisions are editorial.
Samples
Two bottles per wine are required. This provides opportunity for a second opinion and mitigates any issues of faults or spoilage. For very limited releases, a single bottle may be accepted — please contact us in advance.
You are responsible for shipping costs and any applicable UK customs duty. Samples will not be tasted until duty is paid. Please ensure your billing address is included in the shipping paperwork.
Submitted samples will not be returned.
Pre-release or unfinished wines may be submitted, provided the wine is clearly marked as a pre-release sample.
Judging
Wines are tasted with full contextual knowledge of grape variety, origin, producer, and vintage. They are assessed on technical quality, including balance, structure, precision, texture, expression, and overall harmony. Broader considerations such as value for money, authenticity, and availability are taken into account for awards decisions.
Results
Award results will be communicated directly to producers and published publicly. Scores and tasting notes are available to subscribers of paulcaputo.wine.
Producers may not re-publish scores or tasting notes without a professional subscription to paulcaputo.wine. A licence to re-use scores and associated materials is available through professional membership.
Data
Your submitted wines will be entered into the Vinorandum database. Your account information will be used solely for the administration of The Blue Roses programme and will not be shared with third parties.
